I worked for four years at Professional Music Technology (PMT) in sales and general repairing, fault finding, servicing and setting up instruments before branching out on my own.

 

In 2013 to set up my own business/workshop offering a service second to none in the east of England. My 30 years background in music, musical instrument retail, music technology and attention to detail has helped me develop a good reputation with an excellent quality of service to each and every customer.

 

I have the perfect studio now fitted out as a full workshop. I can supply parts from all major manufactures, offering a one stop shop for all you musical instrument needs, service and supply.

 

All types of stringed instruments can be taken care of: electric guitars, semi-acoustic, acoustic, basses, etc. My services offer everything from a simple restring to a full blown restoration. I commonly provide restrings, setups, replacing hardware, upgrading pickups, electrics service.

 

I am able to offer a few extras with servicing which covers:

•Full fret dressing and re-fretting of maple and rosewood finger boards.

•Body routing for pick-up upgrades and custom hardware.

•Custom guitar projects-including hardware, pick-ups and custom wiring.

•Structural work-Fractured head stocks, neck whiplash, Cracked heal and general body repairs.

•Amplifier repairs from guitar combo's to bass heads, be it valve or transistor/solid-state.

Generally there is a 7 day turn-around on instruments depending on availability of parts, fast track is available on some items but comes with a small additional charge. Amplifiers normally require 2 weeks but are also dependent on part availability.

 

Finding me is quite easy.....I'm in the back room at Cookes Band Instruments, up through the Stores "Stairway to heaven" and keep going, the old PA and Lighting room.

There is parking available for 30 minutes on the right just before the shop. Or you have 1.45 hours at cathedral retail park, near TK max and the old Toys RU's Building NR2 4SZ.

Monday 9:00am to 5:00pm

Tuesday 9:00am to 5:00pm

Wednesday By appointment only

Thursday 9:00am to 4:30pm

Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm

Saturday 9:00am to 12:00pm  (Please call to confirm as work alternate Saturdays)
